Aloe Vera - The Lily of The Desert

Aloe vera has been used for thousands of years. It’s known as the “lily of the desert” because Arabs used it to protect themselves from sunburn. More recently aloe vera has been used to prevent radiation burns during radiation therapy.

Aloe vera helps wounds heal. When a piece of the plant is cut off, the liquid inside seals the injury.

And research has shown that aloe vera can be beneficial in the treatment of eczema and other autoimmune disorders.

This is a great site! Thanks for the info on dry skin. It is such a problem! Especially during the winter. I am a writer for Beauty Secrets 101 and I recently posted a blog about knowing your skin type in which I referenced your site about dry skin. By the way, what does aloe do for dry skin?

Thanks for the comment! Yep, it’s so problematic, but spring will be on its way soon. Aloe vera is known for soothing and aiding in healing wounds. So it can help with dry, cracked skin. Plus I heard it can remove dead skin cells, improve skin integrity, and get rid of some fine wrinkles. The best way to get aloe vera is fresh from the plant itself.
