Honey – it’s very sweet and thick – and has some benefits, like being able to attract and retain water. Because of its properties, it’s used in a variety of skin care products, but remember not to have too much of any single thing. Moderation is better.

by Sharon Hopkins

For the ultimate natural all round healing potion, try Honey. Thanks to Cleopatra’s milk and honey baths, Honey has become a favourite with one and all to be used in beauty regime. Beside Cleopatra, there were other beauties from the past, who swear by honey being an indispensable ingredient in beauty treatments.

Pollution, dirt, and other chemical agents in the air make the skin lose its ability to retain water, making it look dry, wrinkled and aging the person bit earlier. The natural hydrating and antioxidant properties of honey trap and seal the moisture, rejuvenate the skin, cleanse the complexion leaving it soft and supple.

Honey in its purest form is suitable for all skin types’ even sensitive skin. Beauticians suggest using honey abundantly for radiant complexion. Skin care products like baths, shower gels, face creams, skin lotions, moisturizers, body scrubs and even newborns products contain pure honey.

Treat your self to some simple natural skin care remedies with honey at your home -

- ¼ cup of honey to your bath keeps your skin soft and supple.
- Dry skin = 1 tsp honey, vegetable oil each and ¼ tsp of lemon juice. Pat it on dry areas of your skin, leave for 10 mins and rinse with water.
- Make a moisturizing mask with 1 tsp of honey, 1 egg yolk, ½ tsp almond oil and 1 tsp yoghurt. Apply on your face, neck and other parts of your body. Leave for 15 minutes and rinse off with water. You skin will feel moisturized and polished with tightened pores.
- For the silky-smooth skin, mix ¼ cup of honey and 3 tsp of rosewater. Apply to face, neck avoiding sensitive areas around the eye. Massage well and rinse with lukewarm water and enjoy the sensation of an all different skin.
- Open the pores on your face by place a cloth dipped in warm water. Smear honey on your face for 20-30 minutes. Rinse first with warm water and then cold water to close the pores.
- Indulge your skin with the paste of 1 tsp of honey, 1 egg white, 1 tsp glycerin and flour. Smooth it over your face, throat, leaving it on for 10 minutes and then washing it off with warm water. Your skin will feel refreshed and rejuvenated.
- 4 tbsp of whole milk powder and 2 tbsp of honey make an excellent baby bath.

I don’t think I’ve had mangosteen before, which is a purple tropical fruit. Mangosteen has a hard rind and a cream-coloured juicy flesh. Apparently it tastes like a peach or pineapple, or a grape-apple combination. It’s prized for its flavour and in Asia is sometimes known as the queen of fruits.

By Kevin Stith

It has already been generally accepted (and widely advertised) that mangosteen extract is useful in the treatment of arthritis, acid dyspepsia, fibromylagia, moderate asthma, otitis externa and eczema. Now, the latest findings indicate that mangosteen has – in addition to its antioxidant effects – antimicrobial actions that inhibit the progression of acne. Furthermore, it is highly effective against the methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA), a bacterium responsible for staph infections.

Mangosteen is at least as effective as most pharmacological agents as far as antibacterial, anti-inflammatory and antifungal properties are concerned. Diabetics are increasingly in favor of its regular use and report that their need for insulin decreases considerably with the ingestion of mangosteen products.

The medicinal benefits of mangosteen will doubtlessly be heralded for a long time to come. Many more will be announced and either confirmed or dismissed in the process. At the moment, there is an understandable trend towards treatment with naturopathic agents like mangosteen extracts in lieu of prescription drugs.

Those properties may be taken as confirmed (unlike some of the miraculous benefits ascribed to it.) However, the highest testimonial that can be given for including this legendary (and certainly not inexpensive) plant in one’s diet is the fact that people who do apparently enjoy better overall health. This means that they appear to be less prone to disease and have higher energy levels than those who do not use mangosteen. They spend less money on prophylactic (preventive) medicines, pay fewer visits to doctors and hospitals and display a higher level of confidence in their health status.

With polluted air, toxic wastes and high levels of stress threatening humans from every side, natural products like mangosteen may offer a centuries-old escape from some of the worst maladies generated by modern civilization. In an age where the use of regenerative food supplements has become something of a religion, could one possibly give higher endorsement to any other natural solution?

Mangosteen provides detailed information about mangosteen, mangosteen fruit and more. Mangosteen is affiliated with Bottled Water Companies.

I use extra virgin olive oil for my hands and arms. It has been used for a long time, unlike some other ingredients. Keep in mind that the oil on your hands and get on other surfaces. For example, you could be oiling your mouse pad when using your mouse.

By Teresa Bacon

Do you have dry , stressed skin ? Most people don’t have normal skin.
If you suffer you can benefit from <tag>Olive Oil</tag>.

There are 2 kinds of olive oil I use regularly. Extra Virgin Olive oil and Spanish Olive oil.

Olive oil is safe to use on all parts of your body including your face. Use lightly around the eyes, T -Zone on your forehead or any other dry patches. You can apply your makeup over it . Use it on your lips to heal dry, chapped lips . You’ll be happy with the difference you’ll notice in just a few uses.

You can use olive oil after your bath, or in your bath water. Please note if used it in your bath water, the tub will be slippery. If you want to use it after a bath or shower, apply it before you dry off as it will hold in the moisture better.

Olive oil has been used for thousands of years The Greeks used oil to clean their bodies and does not typically clog pores and Few people seem to be allergic to it .

Olive oil on the body may help prevent dry skin conditions such as eczema and is a mild antibacterial agent.

Olive oil has phenol and Vitamin E, which are antioxidants. This means that it is good for helping to prevent cancer.

Give you skin a fresh , new glow with Olive oil.

Vitamin E is a fat-soluble vitamin known for its antioxidant properties. Because it’s an antioxidant, it can neutralize free radicals, or unstable molecules, and is popular in skin care products. Vitamin E comes in different forms: tocopherols and tocotrienols. Tocopherols are mainly used in skin care products.

How can vitamin E aid in skin care?

Vitamin E can help decrease the effects of psoriasis, erythema, and may help in reducing skin cancer risk. Vitamin E can also slow the aging of cells and tissues, protect against second-hand smoke, speed wound and burn healing, and reduce scarring.

Dietary sources of vitamin E

Vegetable oils, nuts (almonds, hazelnuts, walnuts), wheat germ, greens (beet, collard, mustard, turnip), and green leafy vegetables (spinach and kale) are main dietary sources of vitamin E.
