Gene for Eczema, Asthma Identified
It looks like a gene responsible for the production of filaggrin could be a major cause of dry skin, eczema, and ichthyosis vulgaris. Filaggrin is a protein found in the outermost layers of the skin. It forms a protective barrier that keeps moisture in the skin and wards off foreign substances.
