We depend on minerals for proper function and structure, including the structure of our skin. Minerals help our body maintain the right chemical balance.
Minerals originate from the soil of the earth and are passed onto plants. Herbivores eat the plants, and we eat the herbivores (and plants as well).
Some important minerals include sodium, potassium, selenium, and zinc.
