Where You Live Can Affect Your Skin Dryness

Where you live can definitely affect the moisturization of your skin. If the air is more humid where you live, your skin will generally be damper. On the other hand, if you live in a less humid area, your skin will tend to be dryer. If humidity drops too low, dry, itchy skin can result. Young children, the elderly, and people with sensitive skin are particularly susceptible to the effects of low humidity.

During university times, I lived in Ontario closer to the lakes. It was milder than Winnipeg. Well, except for certain times in Ottawa when it was -40C with the windchill and my toes seemed to lose feeling. I noticed that the skin on my hands tended not to crack that much. But after, I moved back to Winnipeg – a place far away from the lakes. With the dryer air, I noticed skin cracks in my hands formed more often.
